I love social media. And yet.

Before you hear what we are building, I want to tell you about me. Maybe you will recognize yourself. By Larissa.

It is early morning. My eyes are still half closed, but my hand is already on my phone. I did not decide to reach for it. It just happened. And on an ordinary morning like this one, I asked myself for the first time who is actually making the decisions here. Me, or the device in my hand.

Who I am

My name is Larissa, I am 27. I am someone who likes security and likes to know where she stands. And I am someone who truly loves social media. It matters to me that you understand this before I tell you the rest.

I love staying connected with people who live too far away to see often. I love being inspired and seeing what others create. It has been part of my life for years. And it should stay that way.

When it quietly tipped

That is exactly why it took me so long to admit something. That the first thing I see in the morning is bad news. That I compare myself to people I have never met. That whole hours pass and I cannot say where they went.

For a long time I thought I was simply too weak for it. Until I understood that these apps are built exactly this way. That they hold you, whether you want it or not. It is not on you. It is the design.

It is not only me

What really would not let me go was not me. It was the people around me. Friends who doubt themselves because a screen shows them every day that they are not enough. People I love who carry this more heavily than you can see from the outside.

In the evening I sit with the people who matter most to me, and still we are all somewhere else. That is the moment I realized that I do care. About them, and about myself too.

Why I am telling you this

That is the reason we are working on back to ctrl. Not to give you yet another app that keeps you busy. But to create something that gives you back a piece of yourself. For me this is more than a brand. It is something I would give to the people I love most.

Today I just wanted to tell you about me. And if you recognized yourself in a single sentence, then we are already closer than you think.
